You can not be an outsider if you are or were a business excutive. All business is now inextricably connected to government. There is just too much interconnectedness and influence of big business and money with government ( that is of course our elected officials, their staffs, minions, and lobbyists.
This idea was stimulated by the NYTimes Article about Herman Cain running as an outsider.
